Still don’t see why you’d get this when the Focus ST is only $800 more expensive.

The Focus ST is certainly more powerful but the Civic Si has a real helical gearset LSD and adaptive shocks.

In the turbo FWD world, I get the sense that Honda is trying to be more like a Miata and less like a Mustang; official weights aren’t out, but people are expecting it to be light.
Besides that, Honda reliability, coupe/sedan body styles, personal preference...

Looks like a Cobalt with $200 worth of Pep Boys on the front.

What? It only has 205 HP with a turbo? It’s not VTECing enough.

What’s cool about it though is it’s the 1.5 Earth Dreams with a turbo on it, meaning one of these in a Fit would make one hell of a car.

Looks like aside from the Si goodies (hp bump, LSD, brakes, suspension, seats) it’s basically the same option level as the EX-T, with heated manual cloth seats, sunroof, auto climate control, plus the upgraded stereo from the Touring.
HondaSensing and its assorted driver aids like pre-collision braking, lane departure, active cruise, etc. appears to be unavailable. Even though it’s an option on all other trims except the base LX, and standard on the Touring.
Other unavailable features and the trims they come on are leather seats (EX-L, Touring), power driver’s seat (EX-L, Touring), power passenger seat (Touring), heated rear seats (EX-L, Touring), and navigation (EX-L, Touring).
None of these are super important, I suppose, and navigation is a non-issue for smartphone owners since the stereo supports CarPlay and Android Auto.

The standard Civic weighs ~2900 pounds, the Focus ST weights 3200. Unless they do a bunch of stuff to bring the weight down, there’s still a huge power deficit.

Because the ST isn’t a Honda. Brand cache is why Honda is gonna get away with charging RS/Sti prices for an ST/WRX level car in the Type R. And they’ll push for more if they can.

Well, people have gotten non-SI civics to 60 in around 6.5 seconds, so with a little power bump for the SI, it will be competitive with the ST. But if you read some of Hondas statements about this car, they talk more about a fun to drive experience than all out speed; which is why I made the Miata and mustang comparison.
Personally, I’d take a FoST over the civic but with its weight advantage, different body styles, and options list; I get why people would choose it over a FoST.

I wish it came in orange. The hp thing doesn’t bother me, I like that it has an LSD and adaptive suspension but special trims should have special colors damnit!

The orange on the last Si was really nice. Shame they don’t offer it anymore.

This picture confirms that everything is better with round headlights. ( I genuinely thought that white circle was a bad photo shop of round headlights.)

Damn shame Honda will never put that 1.5t in a Fit or HRV.

Yep, I have no idea why there isn’t a Fit Si. I also hope they shove the type R engine in the new accord and make an accord Si, I’d buy that in a heartbeat
